Eterna Espressione was born from the idea that art does not have a single meaning and does not belong to one time alone.
Art has no single interpretation and does not belong only to the one who creates it.
The work is born from one gaze, but comes alive in many others.
Thus, it becomes an eternal expression.

My name is Marcello Castagna, an Italian chef and owner of Osteria Fainá in San José, Costa Rica.
Italian cuisine, taste, and tradition have always been a fundamental part of the way I express myself. In the kitchen, I transform simple ingredients into emotions, trying to keep alive that deep connection with Italian tradition that passes through flavors, aromas, and conviviality.
But creativity does not stop in the kitchen.
When the kitchen turns off and silence falls, another form of expression is born.
Colors take the place of flavors, the brush replaces the utensils, and the canvas becomes the space where thoughts, emotions, and freedom take shape.
This is how Eterna Espressione was born.
A gallery where matter, color, and emotion meet. Each work is a fragment of my inner world, a journey without rules through what I feel, think, and imagine.
As in cooking, in art I also believe that true expression is born from the meeting of tradition, matter, and creativity.
I do not paint to explain what I see. I paint to give shape to what I feel.
And perhaps, standing before a canvas, each person can find something of themselves.
